Peter Champness

Peter has worked as a Producer and Director for BBC Features and BBC Education.

He has huge experience both as Director and Producer, mainly in factual programmes, but with significant drama work as well. He is completely at home with all single-camera styles and formats, from film to DV.

Ten years’ experience as self-directing lighting cameraman, familiar with most of the new-generation technologies including new media. In addition, five years’ hands-on non-linear editing in various forms, plus considerable understanding of graphics.

Peter also has vast experience as a studio director, both for recorded and live programmes, including all styles and content, from audience debate to corporate drama.

He has extensive public and private sector experience working on media and film projects for the NHS as well as major corporations such as Compaq, Daimler Chrysler, Hewlett-Packard, Lever Faberge, Motorola, Mars and SmithKline Beecham.
