glennie mcintosh: on your wavelength Film Media

Film & Performance Media

Using film media, we create dramas that address social issues in a dramatic, sensitive but authentic treatment which powerfully connects the audience to the real emotions and real people that lie behind our assumptions, stereotypes and prejudices.

Moving people to change

We have used moving images (film, video and animation) as well as live drama to connect with audiences in a way that static pictures and print cannot achieve.

We have now taken the use of moving images in communication to a whole new level through our ‘Social Film Drama Partnership’ in conjunction with Omni Productions in Bristol.

Our partnership has already produced three films, which have received enormous critical acclaim:
  • Protecting Jayne – commissioned by the Home Office
  • The Overdose Notes – commissioned by the Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board
  • Leaving - commissioned by a multi-agency partnership within Wiltshire from the statutory & voluntary sectors along with the Home Office & NSPCC

The Overdose Notes and Leaving are both award-winning productions. The Overdose Notes scooped two gold medals and a bronze at Europe's leading business communication awards, organised by the IVCA, International Visual Communications Association.

Our latest Social Film Drama, Leaving won the prestigious TCM Classic Shorts 2008 film competition at the The Times BFI London Film festival. Rutgar Haur was amongst the illustrious judging panel and said; "It stayed with me and moved me deeply, which is hard to do. I felt it was courageous and painful."

We are also experienced in producing high quality videos for the following purposes:

  • In-house training
  • Internal communication – for example ‘The Message from the Chief Executive’
  • Evaluating audience reaction for Arts Council funders
  • Promotion and sales

Leaving

Leaving tells the story of one woman’s attempts to leave an abusive relationship. Starring Kierston Wareing (BAFTA Best Actress Nominee– It’s a Free World) and Johnny Harris (London to Brighton) the social film drama aims to offer a glimpse into the long and arduous process of safely leaving an abusive relationship, as well as confront the deep-rooted misconception that those living with domestic violence ‘should just walk away’.

Executive Producer, Ian Glennie, said: "We wanted to tell a compelling story about what it feels like to be trapped in an abusive relationship and make it as authentic as possible. We couldn’t have made this film without the input of victims, Swindon Women’s Refuge and the many people who work on the front line to support victims of abuse. “
