Run for Cover!

We have recently provided media relations support to a legal firm in their handling of a very high profile case. In fact, the case was of such interest that the firm found themselves totally inundated with calls from baying journalists, all clamouring for that exclusive interview! 

When faced with such a barrage, it's not uncommon for companies to run for cover - pull the phones out of their sockets, close the curtains, turn out the lights and hope the storm will pass without the need to give any comment. This, however, is not the best response.
