Government

Much of our work is on behalf of local authorities and other public sector bodies where accountability, sensitivity and understanding are vital.

Supporting social cohesion

Our ability to grasp issues, engage communities and demonstrate value has been proven time and again and enabled our clients to develop mutually beneficial relationships with their stakeholders and commentators.

We are particularly aware of the needs that often exist to:

  • Reflect national, regional and local government policies and Priority Service Outcomes
  • Work in partnership to fully involve and harness the energies and resources of all public sector bodies as well as the private sector where appropriate
  • Undertake Best Value performance reviews to demonstrate that public money is being spent wisely.

We are highly experienced at working in partnership with the multiple public and non-profit sector agencies and organisations that regularly work alongside local authorities to tackle those issues with extended boundaries of responsibility. We are happy to take a lead-role in such projects, where required, or connect as an active team member.

Our public sector experience includes national and local government departments; regional regeneration bodies; regional and local health agencies and primary care trusts; national and regional probation and criminal justice agencies; registered social landlords, housing providers; and health and welfare, community-based and housing-related charitable organisations.

Pewsey Vale Quiet Lanes

"Glennie McIntosh were quick to understand the philosophy of Quiet Lanes and some of the paradoxes contained in the concept. They have been able to encourage local supporters to such an extent that many were present at the launch of the Pewsey Vale Quiet Lanes Network. The event was pitched at exactly the right level to secure TV, radio and press coverage.

I am confident that the work they are engaged in will not only raise the awareness of the project, but crucially, the understanding of  what this new rural transport initiative means to local residents and businesses."

Martin Aldam, senior assistant, transportation & development, Wiltshire County Council and ‘Quiet Lanes’ project lead
