Gareth Jones

15 years experience delivering integrated marketing communications programmes for local, national and international organisations.

Honours degree in Business & Finance, postgraduate diploma in Interactive and Direct Marketing, and full membership of the Institute of Direct Marketing.

Started life in social housing, becoming Divisional PR Manager for the leading developer. Took time out to travel to China and Australia before returning to the role of Marketing Manager, EMEA for a global ICT company. Managed the European launch of some of the first offshore outsourcing services, which included time in India producing film and interactive CD Rom materials.

Joined Glennie McIntosh in June 2004 and has led work on key projects including those for the department for Communities and Local Government, Screwfix Direct, Sungard Vivista, Wincanton, Hestia and the Meningitis Trust.

Elected President of the Chippenham Chamber of Commerce in 2005, a role he still holds and which involves him in the strategic, economic and cultural development of the town and North Wiltshire district.

An avid music fan (give me a theme and I’ll think of a song that fits), sometime performance artist, and traveller. I find inspiration in different cultures, religions and environments – although often not in my team, Manchester City!

I’m married to Helen, a market research expert, and live in Bradford on Avon. Although born in Manchester, as my name suggests there’s Welsh blood running through my veins – of which I’m very proud.

I enjoy being on stage, and attend a weekly theatre school (I harbour ambitions to play the Artful Dodger and Danny Zucko from Grease). I’m also a Leo, which is perhaps typical.
